The BBC were looking for a way to give their sport fans a better experience during live events, even when they did not have the rights to broadcast the event live. We proposed a "data-tainment" companion that would compliment the existing on demand content and provide a fuller experience, especially when the user is watching the event live. The "Sport Companion" uses linked data and statistical information to provide users with additional details through a real time timeline of the sporting event.
